The Lookout: One of Joseph’s best & most underrated films.
My darling, Joseph, as handsome as ever.
ugh i’m totally in love with you, you fucking asshole.
Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt
While “Zero Dark Thirty” was receiving its Washington DC premiere this week, Joel was far, far away from the red carpet - 12,388 km away to be exact – visiting a charitable eye clinic in Nepal as a representative of the Fred Hollows Foundation, the outstanding organization that works tirelessly to prevent blindness in Australian Indigenous communities and developing nations.
Here you can see Joel gently speaking to a 75-year-old blind woman who came to the eye camp hoping that at least some of her vision might be restored. Although I don’t know if this particular patient had a successful outcome to her trip, more than 250 people received operations to restore or improve their sight during the free 2-day clinic.
This is not the first time Joel has gone to Nepal to provide assistance to the eye clinic, nor is it the only charity with which he works. Although he does not publicize his philanthropic work, he is a regular participant in a wide array of charity events and fund-raisers, and has donated significant personal funds to Sydney Children’s Hospital, and provided support for the rescue efforts after the 2010 Haitian earthquake and the construction of shelters for quake victims.
The Foundation describes Joel as “a passionate supporter of the work we do.” When asked why he was working in a remote Nepali community instead of posing on the red carpet in glamourous world capitals, Joel simply replied that he was “overjoyed” to be able to lend a helping hand, and said that “acting is my passion, but social service is something which gives me immense satisfaction.”

All that’s missing is the soundtrack performed by the Cranberries: the life and times of a washed up ballet dancer and her semi-domesticated maybe-hitman boyfriend.
Genius.
Teachers everywhere are thankful for your comments, Joseph.
And to all the students that are working hard on writing papers and studying for exams at this time of the year, hang in there.
Oh my.
NBD, just Gary Fucking Oldman.
